Step 1: Sign Up & Create Your Organization

Go to the signup page

Visit getkite.org/signup or click "Get Started" on the homepage

Enter your details

Provide your name, email, and organization name. This creates your workspace.

Pro Tip: Your organization name can be changed later

You're in!

You'll land on your dashboard. Your 60-day free trial starts now—no credit card required.

Step 2: Create Your First Mission

Click "New Mission"

You'll find this button in the top right of your dashboard

Name your mission

Pick something clear and specific. Examples:

• "Launch Q1 Marketing Campaign"
• "Redesign Mobile App"
• "Build Customer Dashboard"

Write a brief description

Explain what this mission is about and why it matters. Keep it to 2-3 sentences.

Click "Create Mission"

Your mission is created! You'll be taken to the mission page.

Step 3: Add Checkpoints

Checkpoints break your mission into major phases. Let's add a few:

Click "Add Checkpoint"

On your mission page, look for the "Add Checkpoint" button

Name your checkpoints

Create 3-5 checkpoints that represent the major phases. For example:

• Planning & Research
• Design & Prototyping
• Development
• Testing & QA
• Launch

Optional: Add due dates

You can add target completion dates, but it's not required. Stay flexible!

Step 4: Create Objectives (Tasks)

Click into a checkpoint

Select your first checkpoint to start adding tasks

Click "Add Objective"

Create specific, actionable tasks like:

• "Research competitor features"
• "Create user personas"
• "Draft project timeline"

Assign it to yourself

For now, assign the first task to yourself so you can try completing it

Step 5: Invite Your Team

Click "Invite Team"

Find this option in the mission settings or organization settings

Enter email addresses

Add your teammates' emails. They'll receive an invitation to join your organization

Set roles & permissions

Choose whether they're admins, members, or guests. Start with "member" for most people.

Step 6: Complete Your First Objective

Try It Out!

Find the objective you created and assigned to yourself. Click on it, then:

1. Add a description or notes if you want
2. Change the status to "In Progress"
3. When you're done, check it off as complete

🎉 Congratulations! You've completed your first objective in Kite!
